Dr Who Writing Competition

Creating exciting scientific stories

Pupils at Leeds City Academy were challenged to write a story or script for an episode of Dr Who for the science department’s creative writing competition. The story had to include some scientific theory and to be as creative as possible.

There were some imaginative entries which took the new Dr Who, Jodie Whitaker, on adventures into the deep sea as well as outer space. She was challenged by deadly plagues, met Barak Obama and even had a pet Dalek.

Congratulations to winners Nadia (Y9), Rayan (Y8), Hamzah (Y8), Jack (Y8), Cameron (Y7), Ellis (Y7) and Daniel (Y7).

Ms Andrew said: “All pupils who entered won 100 stamps and the seven winners visited Manchester Science and Technology Museum to see Tim Peake's spacecraft and the robotic exhibition. All of which pupils thought was Amazing!”
