LCA Restart A Heart
On 16th October 2018, all Year 7 students at Leeds City Academy took part in the ‘Restart a Heart Day’.
This event aims to teach students how to perform CPR. We are proud to contribute to the overall statistic of 29,768 young people taking part in this event on the day. This takes the total number of young people trained in CPR to 106,000 across Yorkshire, since the start of the campaign back in 2014.
Leeds City Academy students also learnt about careers within the emergency services as well as employability skills within the sector.
We are extremely grateful for the support the Academy received on the day, which included the Moortown Fire Brigade, West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue employees, Yorkshire Ambulance Service employees, a Leeds University student doctor, our own member of staff who is an emergency first responder and Major Stanley McIlheron Hardy who represented Her Majesty the Queen.
The year 7 students really enjoyed taking part in this day. We look forward to welcoming the emergency service employees back into our Academy next year,
