Romanian Consulate Visit LCA

Leeds City Academy welcomed representatives from the Romanian Consulate on Friday 15 February to reassure parents and members of the local community about their right to remain in the UK post-BREXIT.

Running two sessions during the day, the Consulate representatives explained that Romanian citizens will have the right to remain in the UK even if they arrive as late as 28 March, the day before BREXIT - proof of arrival could be evidenced as simply as a dated airline ticket into an UK airport.  The Romanian Consulate offers both advice and services online through its website or in their Manchester based offices.  Other services include travel related documents such as Passports, which Romanian citizens can apply for in Manchester rather than travelling back to Romania.

Tracy Foy, Acting Principal, who presented a food hamper filled with Yorkshire based products to thank the Consulate representatives, said -

"This event has been so informative and reassuring for parents and members of our local community about their undoubted right to remain in the UK post-Brexit.  I would like to thank them so much on behalf of everyone who attended our event at Leeds City Academy."
