UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge
Crunching the numbers
Leeds City Academy students took part in the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust's Intermediate Challenge this week.
The Intermediate Challenge is aimed at pupils in Year 11 and tasks students to answer 25 multiple choice questions in one hour. Like all examinations, the paper was sat within school, under normal exam conditions. Students fill in the answer sheet and the Challenge is marked by UKMT using an optical mark reader, with the aim to return the results to the Academy within six weeks.
Ms Rose said: "Well done to our outstanding Maths students for tackling this paper. Thank you also to Mr Hall for entering the students into the challenge, ensuring that we're always furthering the ambitions and outcomes of all of our students. We have some very gifted Mathematicians at Leeds City Academy and I look forward to hearing the results of the Mathematics Trust's Intermediate Challenge soon."
