Year 9 WRAT 3 - 3 Coop Academy Leeds

Mr Major, Mr Kelly and Mr Carrington are delighted to announce that the 4th Year 9 WRAT fixture was played on Thursday 9th May against Coop Academy Leeds.

Playing with only 11, the boys showed great heart, resilience, and passion to get 3-3 draw.

The quote below perfectly summarises the heart of the team’s performance against Coop -

“Champions don’t show up to get everything they want; they show up to give everything they have”

Daniel who was on fire managed to score all 3 of the WRAT goals. Daniel displayed great composure in front of the goal. Well done man of the match!

Fredlin playing out of his usual position, managed to lead the defensive line and made some crucial tackles throughout to keep his team in the game. Excellent leadership well done!

David started in his usual centre midfield but found himself helping the attackers. A tactical position change at half time allowed David to battle for the ball in the opponents end and utilise his power by getting forward and putting the opposition under pressure.

Khadimou proving he can play in multiple positions dominated both CB and CM working tirelessly to ensure his team stayed in the game.

Playing on the right side of midfield Benj put in a solid performance and ensured the strikers had plenty of chances throughout the game.

Brad staying calm and composed on the ball, Brad played a vital role in recycling possession and linking the defence and attack

The ever reliable Luke put in another great performance. Switching from his preferred side Luke played right back and made some excellent tackles and passes in the game.

Kerubale with another solid performance made some unbelievable tackles at CB. Managing to ensure his team stayed in the game.

Archie who was busy at times made some great saves throughout the game in order to ensure his team battled until the last minute.

Filipe’s first fixture for the WRAT football team. Stepping up a year and demonstrating some fantastic footwork he managed to outwit the opposition numerous times.

Gerrard was hard working throughout the fixture and managed to make some great passes out wide to keep the WRAT on the attack.

After such a close competitive fixture Mr Major, Mr Kelly and Mr Carrington have arranged for a rematch with Coop. This will take place in two weeks at Leeds West Academy.
