Leeds City Academy

START at Leeds City Academy

A Local Community Hub

START at Leeds City Academy is a Community Hub which serves the parents/carers of our school community and beyond.

We have the long-term goal of providing independence and stability for families through life-long learning. To do this, we provide essential advice services such as life training, clinics and networking events to ensure that people can sustain themselves with confidence and inspire others to do the same. We are also building a thriving online community for people to share their own advice and experiences.

What we can provide

Drop-In English Sessions

Sessions where basic English skills are developed, including translation services, which will provide short-term solutions to those struggling with the complexity of national services.

Expanding and developing language skills to offer the confidence to integrate, fully contribute and enrich day-to-day living in Leeds.

Computer Clinic

The Internet is key to modern life management; from dental registration to paying bills or buying a rail ticket.

Leeds has an abundance of Libraries offering free Internet access. We want more of our families to use this resource and harness opportunities online.

It is our aim to train individuals in core IT skills, and modern language support tools (Google Translate) to improve digital communication and independence.
