Chris graduated from The University of Leeds in Sports Science and Physiology. Following a a year travelling he completed his PGCE as a Science teacher at the same University. Chris also went on to study for a Masters in Teaching and Learning at Leeds Trinity University.
Chris started out his teaching profession, as a science teacher, at Farnley Academy. He was part of the school’s journey from notice to improve to an outstanding school, running the science department. Chris and his family then embarked upon on a year out in South Africa. Chris relished the opportunity of teaching local children and helping to provide an education for underprivileged children. Upon his return, Chris joined Todmorden High School as Director of Science, going onto become Associate Assistant Headteacher for Teaching and Learning.
Chris is extremely passionate about Science and Teaching and Learning and was delighted when becoming Vice Principal for Teaching and Learning. He wants the very best for the pupils at Leeds City Academy and relishes the challenge of helping to make the Academy an outstanding school.
Sport and his family are his passion outside of the workplace and Chris finds it very difficult being surrounded by Leeds fans - being a Stoke fan himself.
