Simon Ford

Vice Principal

Simon graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2002 with BA (Hons) in Physical Education. He spent his first six years teaching PE in his hometown of Scunthorpe, where he became the Head of PE at the Specialist Sports College.

As part of the National College of School Leaders Fastrack Programme, Simon moved to West Yorkshire and secured a role as a pastoral leader at Tong High School, where he subsequently progressed to Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for KS3, safeguarding, SEND and attendance. 

Now overseeing Transition and KS3 at Leeds City Academy, Simon is driven to ensure that the young people of the Academy make the best possible start to their journey through education and beyond.

Outside of work, Simon is a keen cyclist, a follower of his home football team Scunthorpe United and a proud father of two children.
