Dance - Options 2025

The courses available for teaching from September 2025 will be approved by the DfE (Department for Education) during the Spring term. Following this will confirm to interested students the specific nature of the course. It is envisaged it will be very similar to the course outlined below.

Course Description:

NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Performance Skills

This qualification is designed for learners who may be interested in working in the performance industry. The focus of the qualification is on the learner's ability and desire to perform. The Level 2 Certificate in Performance Skills is an ideal qualification for learners who wish to obtain underpinning knowledge of processes and principles of performance skills.

What will I learn?

This qualification will:

• focus on the study of the performance, within the arts, media and publishing sector
• offer breadth and depth of study, incorporating a key core of knowledge
• provide opportunities to acquire a number of practical and technical skills

How will I be assessed?

1 Portfolio of evidence (40/50%)

2. Practical performance (30-40%)

3. Written or Recorded Reflections (10-15%)

4. Synoptic Assessment/ Final Project (10/15%)
