Leeds City Academy Proud to Host Leeds Headteacher Forum

Earlier this month, Leeds City Academy was delighted to host the Leeds Headteacher Forum, welcoming headteachers from across the city for a morning of collaboration, reflection, and shared practice.
The event provided a valuable opportunity to showcase how Leeds City Academy continues to evolve in its support for students, while also strengthening partnerships across Leeds schools. It was a privilege to open our doors and welcome colleagues from across the city.
Sharing Practice and Learning Together
Speaking after the event, Mr Barratt, Senior Vice Principal at Leeds City Academy, reflected on the importance of the occasion:
“It was an absolute pleasure to be able to share examples of how we continue to evolve as an academy and support our students at the recent headteacher meeting whilst also taking the opportunity to network and learn from others in the true sense of partnership.”
The forum was also an opportunity to hear from colleagues and leaders across the city, reinforcing the strength of collaboration within Leeds’ education community.
Warm Feedback from Attendees
Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many highlighting the organisation, hospitality, and professionalism of our staff.
Rob Dixon, Headteacher at Cockburn School and Secondary Headteacher Steering Group, shared:
“On behalf of everyone, the event went very well this morning and a significant factor was how well everyone was looked after by all your staff. Matt did an excellent presentation that was very well received. Refreshments and food were lovely, and David was brilliant coordinating everything today from start to finish.”
He added his thanks and expressed hope that Leeds City Academy would host again in the future.
Similarly, Iram Mir, Families of Schools Service, Leeds City Council Children & Families, echoed these sentiments:
“Your team were outstanding and made us feel so welcome. Arrangements were excellent and breakfast was spot on. A special thanks to Lee for making all the arrangements run seamlessly and to David for his IT support throughout the meeting. It is greatly appreciated, particularly given current staffing pressures.”
Thank You to Our Staff
We are incredibly proud of the dedication and teamwork shown by our staff in making the event such a success. From planning and coordination to presentations, IT support, and hospitality, colleagues went above and beyond to ensure all guests felt welcomed and supported.
Hosting the Leeds Headteacher Forum was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate partnership, professionalism, and our shared commitment to improving outcomes for young people across the city.
We look forward to welcoming colleagues back to Leeds City Academy again in the future.
