Leeds City Academy

Results Day 2021

GCSE Results Day at Leeds City Academy

Today saw our Year 11 students visit the academy to collect their GCSE results. It was a wonderful opportunity for staff and students to discuss all they have accomplished during their time at school.

This year we are reporting our best ever results, with this year seeing Leeds City Academy secure the highest percentage of students in our history achieving grades 9 -4 in English and Maths, demonstrating an increase of 8.4% compared to last year.  In addition to this the proportion of students securing a grade 5 or higher in science has increased by 10.4% when compared to last year.

Our staff were grateful to be able to welcome students into the academy and celebrate their achievements with them. The whole staff body are so proud of our Year 11 students and would like to congratulate each of them for all that they have achieved during their time at Leeds City Academy.

Mr Chattoe, Principal, said, “I am absolutely delighted and so very proud of our students, staff and families who have worked hard over the past two years in the most trying and complex circumstances as they have worked to secure the very best results they can. Over the last few successive years, students at LCA have continued to secure increasingly higher and impressive results and this year significant improvements have been secured cross a range of subjects.”

Mr Wilcocks, Executive Principal, commented this morning: “There is no doubt that the grades achieved by our students at Leeds City Academy are thoroughly deserved.  The last few years of study during the pandemic has presented so many challenges for our young people, but their resilience and determination, combined with the hard work, unconditional care, and resourcefulness of staff, has resulted in a great set of results.

“There are so many personal triumphs of which we are so very proud.  On behalf of the Trust, I would like to offer my sincere congratulations to students and staff for all you have achieved, as Leeds City Academy goes from strength to strength.”

Well done to all our fantastic Year 11 students. Remember, Once White Rose, Always White Rose!
